Concessions
For children under 12 years of age, please select the ‘Children’s Ticket w’ (‘Kinderkarte w’) sale type in the event (if available). Tickets for disabled persons can only be booked at the Ticket Offices.

Share Event The Rhythm & Blues event series at the Kurhaus Baden-Baden has long since ceased to be an insider's tip and has become a permanent institution in the Baden-Baden Events programme over the past 20 years. Its artistic director and drummer of the band The Voyagers, Ralf Heinrich, invites soloists to every concert. Each evening of the blues series thus becomes a musical unicum.
Tonight's guest: Mr. Supercharge Albie Donnelly & John Lewis. The Liverpool-born saxophonist, lead singer and bandleader started his career as a studio musician in London on productions with Bob Geldof, The Boomtown Rats, Graham Parker and others. After founding his band SUPERCHARGE in 1973, he went on tour in England as a support act for Chuck Berry, B.B. King, Fats Domino, Ray Charles and also Queen and performed in Hyde Park in front of more than 100,000 enthusiastic spectators. Since then he has been successful throughout Europe with SUPERCHARGE. As a frontman whose voice is characterised by British rhythm & blues, whose saxophone playing delivers pure soul power, he has continued and developed the tradition of greats like Junior Walker and King Curtis. After a great many years, Albie will meet his long-time companion John Lewis at this concert.
John also began his career as a studio musician in Liverpool, where he recorded for Alexis Corner and John Mayall, among others. He joined Supercharge in the mid-80s and toured with them for many years. After leaving SUPERCHARGE, John formed his own project and toured with singer Conny Lush, with whom he won the Best British Blues Singer Award five times and the European Blues Award twice. Together, the warhorses of British R&B will turn the hall into a witches' cauldron.
